House System
At North Liverpool Academy, students are assigned to one of our five houses upon starting Year 7.
Our students often liken their houses to school families. Each year, these five houses engage in a series of competitive challenges to earn rewards as teams.

Mrs Cawood is the SLT Lead for Patten.
The Patten motto is “Patten for success” and the Patten staff team hope that by working together they can ensure all students believe, achieve and succeed!

House Competitons
Every subject area holds house competitions termly allowing for participation and belonging for all students. A great success this year has been the redesign of the Lambanana, now emblazoned with all the house logos, standing pride of place in our foyer for all students and visitors alike to see.
The Lambanana is a permanent symbol of our community spirit and echoes the message that North Liverpool Academy is a place for all to enjoy and achieve.

This year, we held our second 24-hour just dance event for Children in Need.
Our house captains shone throughout this event, tasked to lead and encourage others, their positivity and resilience was boundless. Their efforts definitely helped us to exceed our previous donation amount, dancing and smiling through the night.
NLA House Captains
Each house has a representative form every year group, these students are our esteemed House Captains. The recruitment process was rigorous, and those interested in the role had to write a letter outlining their plans and ambitions regarding the house system.
All captains are role models to others and consistently uphold our basic 8 expectations. Duties include leading their house in all community and enrichment events such as sports day, front of house for school shows, community liaison for extra curricular activities.
This year the house captains will lead on a fund-raising programme for the local charities attached to their house. They will project manage their proposed event, planning from its initial stages, marketing right through to the final realisation of their project.
Our house captains gain experience of leadership and can apply this to their lives beyond the school and their curriculum. This opportunity will allow them an insight into working collaboratively and creatively towards a common goal. They will feel inspired and empowered in their choices post 16 and 18 and will certainly stand out in the application process for further education or employment.
